Privacy Policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This site is intentionally privacy-friendly: it is a static website that sets no cookies and runs no advertising scripts. It has no contact forms and no user accounts. The only measurement we run is a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool described below.

Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Sebastian Mergl, Brautwiesenstr. 8, 02826 Görlitz, Germany
Email: hello@adhdsparks.com

See also our legal notice.

Server log files

Our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us. This includes: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing device, time of the server request, and IP address. This data is used for the technically error-free presentation and security of our website and for a rough aggregate view of usage (e.g. how many requests a page received). Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, functional, and traceable operation). Logs are automatically deleted after 30 days at the latest.

We also derive an approximate location (city and country level) from the IP address, using a database that runs locally on our own server (DB-IP City Lite). Your IP address is never sent to an external geolocation service or any other third party for this purpose.

Hosting is provided on a server operated by netcup GmbH, Karlsruhe, Germany.

Audience measurement

To understand which articles are actually read, we use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves on the same server as this website. No data is sent to any third party, and the script is served from this domain. Umami sets no cookies and builds no profile of you: it records the page visited, the referring site, an approximate country, and the browser and device type. Your IP address is used only in passing to derive an anonymous identifier that changes daily, and is not stored. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used).

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links (e.g. the Amazon Associates programme). If you click such a link and make a purchase, the partner shop may set cookies in your browser to attribute the sale. This happens on the partner's website under their privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for details.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address above.

Changes

We will update this policy when the site changes (for example if a further tool is introduced). Last updated: 6 August 2026.
